Welcome to Mr Smith's science class.
Welcome to Mars. We finished the Mars habitats on May 20th. We had a nice sunny day and not too warm. Many of the teachers brought their classes out to visit Mars and everything went well. Here is a video of the highlights of building the habitats and the last day when the Earth visitors came to Mars.
I have a copy of this video on the 8th grade blog. Feel free to leave a comment there.
May 6,2010 : Today we'll go outside and begin the first task of folding and taping the habitats. Yesterday, we cut the large 20' x 100' plastic into eight sections of 10' x 25' sections that will be used for construction. One concern now is the weather. It might rain this morning so we might have to wait till tomorrow.
May 4, 2010: It's May and that means it is time for the Mars Habitat. We started today by taking out the used plastic from last year. We'll try and recycle some of the habitats and connecting tunnels. It seems that we will have enough plastic and tape to build some special features this year. The Commander will be here tomorrow and things will really get going then. Pictures soon.
